Eastern part of the ranch

Buddha Barn – 3,000 Sq ft barn/lavender farm with parking for 70 cars+.

This 300 square foot single story building was constructed in 1929. It is located a mile East of the main ranch entrance, and sits on the land between the Point Reyes Petaluma Road and the confluence of the Nicasio and the Lagunitas Creeks. The building is used by the Viviculture Center to process lavender and other aromatic herbs from their startup lavender farm, and also to teach classes focusing on the intersection of agriculture, ecology, and wellness.

Classes are held in the building, in the gardens that surround the building, and on the 13 acre site across the road where the first lavender patch is located. The building can also be used to seat up to 100 people for farm to table dinners or for presentations. There is parking for 70 cars. Groups requiring more parking have used the ex horse arena for parking and used a shuttle to take guests back and forth.
